Mission, Vision, Values, and Direction
School District No. 57 is located on the unceded ancestral lands of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation, McLeod Lake Indian Band and Simpcw First Nation. Our district spans a wide and diverse region, from Mackenzie, through Prince George, to McBride and Valemount, reflecting the unique communities and people we are proud to serve.
We support approximately 15,000 students across 41 schools, including 32 elementary schools, 8 secondary schools and one District Learning Support Centre that offers alternative and flexible learning options. Our programs include early learning, after-school arts and sports, trades training and dual credit opportunities in partnership with local post-secondary institutions.
As we walk forward as one unified district, our work is guided by the values of respect, inclusion, equity, transparency and collaboration. We honour our Local Education Agreements with the Lheidli T’enneh, McLeod Lake, and Takla First Nations, and co-create education services with each Nation to support their students, both on and off reserve, while attending schools within SD57.

Our Brand Story
School District 57 is more than a place of learning, it’s a growing, connected community made up of unique students, families, staff and Nations. Our new brand reflects that shared identity: a story shaped together, inspired by the land we live on and grounded in the values that guide us: respect, inclusion, equity, integrity, transparency and community.
In 2025, we launched a new chapter for SD57 and reimagined a brand that truly represents who we are and who we’re becoming. One that honours the diversity of our region, the voices of our First Nations partners and the learning journeys of every student.
